Interior Component Lubricants

Use of advanced plastics and leather trims in vehicle interiors increase the likelihood of extended contact between plastics, metal and leather linings. Undesirable noise is a possible outcome. The degree of noise dampening is influenced by selecting a lubricant that combines the appropriate base oil viscosity and thickener system to create the desired shear resistance, reduce stick slip and thereby the resulting noise.

Application of these noise dampening interior component lubricants are found in mechanisms of locking systems, gearshift mechanisms, Bowden and push pull cables, HVAC units, seat and door modules and a host of other interior auto components.
