The operational team’s maintain robust operating procedures, reinforced with multi-layered validation measures, ensuring full compliance with regulatory mandates as well as benchmarking with industry best practices.
Energy-Efficient Manufacturing
BECHEM has adopted several energy-saving measures, including continuous monitoring of energy usage per equipment versus batch mix, optimization of maximum yield per batch and regular training of employees at all levels on awareness for the cause. Remote sensors and automated systems in the production area ensure machinery runs only when necessary. For example VNI’s commissioned in the warehouse are programmed to ensure minimum runs for picking of batch raw materials for production as well as dispatch of finished goods.
Further, the initiative of transitioning to solar energy sources to power the plant’s energy requirements are underway.
Raw Material Conservation and Recycling
BECHEM’s commitment to resource conservation has led to significant reductions in disposal costs through recycling and innovative reuse initiatives. Bulk of operations at the warehouse is aided by RFID technology eliminating the need for paper records. All storage bins have an unique bar code, read by RFID scanners and automatically mapped to the server.
Wooden pallets used for storage are refurbished and reused for barrel storage. At micro level, single-use water bottles and cutlery have been replaced with water dispensers, steel cutleries and dishwashing systems, reducing plastic waste. Additionally, treated water from RO units are repurposed for garden irrigation. Regular dispatches to customers and our Partners are also being planned in a way that avoids frequent deliveries without impacting customer’s production lines.
These practices promote sustainability while delivering significant cost savings, benefiting both the environment and optimizing process costs.

Sustainability and Societal Good
WOW-‘Well Being out of Waste’ is a nationwide initiative by ITC Paperboards and Specialty Division to recycle dry paper waste. Connecting the dots, Madhusudhan, Executive, Safety, Health & Environment, BECHEM India worked with respective Departments in identifying disposable stationery and also coordinated with ITC WOW team. The result, over 1000 Kg. of paper waste recycled and in return the ITC team provided fresh bundle stationery for use.
The BECHEM India management has decided to donate the fresh stationery to the students of Abbankuppe, Pre-primary school. An example for sustainability and societal good!
